Shop Guilt Free With The Nike Sustainability Collection

There’s no doubt that sustainability and ethical practices are at the forefront of brands and shoppers minds at the moment. With the fashion industry said to be one of the most polluting industries, people want alternatives to harmful fast fashion cycles which are damaging our earth.

Nike has been making moves to become more sustainable in its practices: Nike Grind materials are already used in 71% of Nike’s footwear and apparel products, with three quarters of Nike Products containing some recycled material. With sustainability top of the agenda, it’s not surprising that Nike has announced the release of a Sustainability collection.

Let us know in the comments or on our socials what you think of this Sustainability collection. Is is a great step forward for sustainable fashion, or is it not enough? We want to know!

In the meantime, keep it locked to The Sole Womens for updates on sneaker news, style guides, and releases!

Take It Y2K With These Nostalgic Nike Shox

Old Skool Technology Gets A New School Makeover

Love them or hate them, Nike Shox are back and taking on the sneaker world. While the noughties aren’t actually *that* long ago, the technology used in these trainers makes them feel super retro and makes us yearn for a time when we were chasing the future.

Shox tech was created by Nike, and the Swoosh brand claims that the spring-enhanced Shox trainers absorb heel strike impact and also “spring back” to bring more power to a runners stride. That’s some serious shock absorption there.

The shoes themselves are a million miles away from the Air Max Sole unit, and Boost sole technology we’re used to seeing and feeling on our feet nowadays in 2019 – but with the revival of Y2K fashion and deconstructed, utilitarian fashion, if Shox were gonna come back at any time… it’s got to be now!

Check out the 4 silhouettes that are available to buy now. Will you be copping, or are the Shox a step too far for you?

Watch Our Rundown Of Chunky Dad Sneakers For Spring

The days are starting to get longer, and slowly warmer – and that can only mean one thing… spring is on its way!

Here at The Sole Womens, we’ll definitely be switching up our styles as spring comes in. Out with the all-black fits (well, nearly – because who doesn’t love all black) and in with the colour and lighter hues.

For spring especially, we’re loving neutral, natural hues. Think white, neutral, beige, grey and other subtle shades.

When it comes to chunky dad shoes, the Fila Disruptor II – with its chunky cleated sole and all-white profile – is often people’s first thought, so we’ve left it out of this list because we think it’s had enough limelight. Take a look at our top 5 chunky dad shoes for spring, all available from Foot Locker in women’s sizing, coming in at around £100 or less.
